History

Since 1972

In 1972, Allen G. Wassenaar opened a soil and foundation engineering office in Denver and focused on providing recommendations for foundation systems. The business operated out of Al’s home until he purchased a building on South Ivanhoe Street in Denver in 1978. In 2020, the company moved to a new building on South Zuni Street in Englewood. Over the past 50 years, AGW has grown to incorporate a multitude of geotechnical and environmental services, including state-of-the art laboratories for testing the engineering properties of concrete, soil, and asphalt. Since its inception, we have been a trusted partner to many land developers, commercial real estate owners, architects, municipalities, and general contractors/builders in Colorado’s construction industry. We are immensely proud of our success in Colorado and strive to continue contributing in meaningful ways to the communities in which we work.

Our Vision

AGW will deliver superior engineering, consulting, field, and lab services; will be recognized as the most reliable, responsive, and knowledgeable consulting engineering firm in the region; will maintain a quality, dedicated, happy staff; and will meet our clients’ needs to assist in their success.
